History of Brand

Diamond FM is a Regional Commercial Radio Station under the Radio Broadcasting Division of the Zimpapers Group. The Station was officially launched on the 13th of May 2016. Broadcasting from the historic Manica Post building, Diamond FM has grown from a metropolitan commercial radio station- reaching a radius of only 40km around Mutare at inception- to reach all the seven districts of Manicaland.

Diamond FM has managed to establish itself as the most listened to radio station in Manicaland and beyond on both its terrestrial and on line platforms. In 2019 Diamond FM led in breaking and covering cyclone idai disaster. The recent installation of transmitters in Chimanimani and Nyanga has seen signal reach expand to cover all the seven districts of Manicaland. The station has also managed to attract listeners in the diaspora via the live streaming link www.diamondfm.co.zw. Diamond FM is the most popular regional radio station in Zimbabwe according to the latest ZAMPS survey results.

Diamond FM is a 24 hour music & talk station focusing on hyper local content that celebrates and affirms the unique cultural, religious and social mores and values of the peoples of the Eastern Highlands. We do this through the use and promotion of local dialects, such as Manyika, Hwesa, Jindwi, Ndau and ChiBarwe.
